Drinking games, traditionally played by college aged young adults experiencing alcohol for the first time, can be enjoyed by people of all ages, in many forms.

For many people, college memories are filled with all night parties, playing various drinking games. Quarters, president, beer pong and categories are just a few of the most popular games played by young adults experimenting with alcohol.

After college, when house parties become a thing of the past and cheap beer in basements gives way to expensive imports at the local pub, many adults crave those simpler days, but don't have the fortitude they once possessed to enjoy these hard drinking games.

Post-college drinking games are as various as their predecessors and the people who play them. Many of these games are designed with adults themes and meant to be played at home or while out on the town.

Debt Master

Only play this game if you're comfortable with other people knowing how much you pay for bills each month.

Two or more people gather together with their most recent bills. One person is selected at random as Debt Master. The Debt Master goes through one bill of each of the other players and determines how much each person must drink based on how much they owe. After each round, the person who owes the least amount becomes the Debt Master in the next round.

Beer Pot

All players sit in a circle. Each player pours one beer to the pot. One player starts drinking from the pot. This person can drink as much or little as they please. When done, the pot passes to the next player who does the same. The person who empties the pot the pot is the winner. The person who drinks immediately before that person is the loser. The loser then must contribute one beer per player into the pot. Play begins again.

An alternative version can be played at the bar. Buy a pitcher of beer and pass it around. The loser buys the next pitcher.

Greed

Players gather around a hard surface with five dice. Each player begins by shaking all five dice. Player gathers up any dice that are worth drinks and re-rolls the rest. Player continues to roll dice until they roll nothing of value or until they want to give drinks away. If player rolls all dice and has not defaulted (roll nothing of value), they may continuing by re-rolling all five dice. If player stops rolling by default they must drink all accumulated drinks. Any player can stop rolling at any time and give accumulated drinks to other players. After player defaults or gives away drinks, they pass the dice onto the next player. Continue.

  • Ones are worth one drink
  • Fives worth half a drink
  • Three of a kind equals face value, unless three ones are rolled, and then it equals 10 drinks
  • A straight is 10 drinks
  • Four of a kind is face value times two
  • Five of a kind is face value times four.

These games are meant to be played only by adults over the age of 21. When drinking is involved, always be responsible and drink in moderation.
