Another Way to Enjoy Absolut New Orleans

Absolut’s limited edition vodka, New Orleans, may soon be gone, so try this while you can!

I’ve talked several times now about Absolut New Orleans, and the company’s pledge to donate 100% of the profits from its sale to non-profit organizations rebuilding in the Gulf. They’re promising a minimum $2 million donation, which is nothing to sneeze at.

Even if it wasn’t great vodka, I’d suggest everyone buy a bottle to support a good cause. In this case, it is great vodka, so there are two reasons to buy a bottle. Normally, I don’t care much for flavors as sweet as mango, but the slight pepper heat in Absolut New Orleans is the perfect counterpart to its sweetness. I’m thrilled that I’ve managed now to get a second bottle, and I’m very stingy about sharing.

Now I’ve found another great reason to buy a bottle – another delicious cocktail to try! Courtesy of health food eateries Josie’s East and Josie’s West in New York, the Bourbon Street Lemonade makes wonderful use of the contrasting sweet and hot flavors of the vodka. Equally as good as the drink, Josie’s is also donating proceeds from drink sales to Gulf Coast charities to aid in the rebuilding efforts.
