Gruesome Options for Halloween Fun

There’s something about Halloween that makes otherwise normal people choose drinks that look, sound, and maybe even taste disgusting.

It happens every year. There’s at least one person at any Halloween gathering that will have a glass of something that looks so horrible, you can’t imagine why they’d even think about drinking it. And the drink usually has a name horrible enough to match the looks.

I don’t know why we do it, but we do. Call it the Halloween spirit, maybe. We just can’t seem to resist. And I couldn’t resist gathering some of those recipes.

Maggots

  • ½ ounce vodka
  • ½ ounce peach schnapps
  • ½ ounce Bailey’s Irish Cream
  • ½ ounce Kahlua

Pour all ingredients into a rocks glass in the order given. Do not mix! Once all ingredients are in the glass, shake slightly. The Irish Cream will curdle and look like maggots.

Writhing Maggots

  • 1/3 shot Irish Cream
  • 1/3 shot Mandarine Napoleon
  • 1/3 shot sweet vermouth

Build in a shot glass.

Brain Hemorrhage

  • 1 ½ ounce peach schnapps
  • ¼ ounce Bailey’s Irish Cream
  • splash of Grenadine

Pour the schnapps into a shot glass. Slowly add the Bailey’s Irish Cream, allowing it form a curdled mass in the schnapps. (This is the brain, floating in formaldehyde.) Dribble the grenadine directly into the center of the glob of Irish Cream. As the amount of grenadine increases, it will eventually burst through the Irish Cream and ooze to the bottom of the glass, creating the “hemorrhage”.

Is it any wonder that CocktailTimes.com dubbed this shot the Worst Cocktail of the Century?

Enjoy the Halloween fun!
