The drinks, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic, will be available through October, with a portion of sales being donated to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. The cocktails are developed by Cindy Busi, Director of Beverage at Hard Rock International. With more than 120 cafes in 46 countries worldwide, that’s a potential for a lot of pink drinks!
Hard Rock is kicking off the party with a listening event featuring Melissa Etheridge’s new album, The Awakening. Etheridge, a breast cancer survivor, will perform the album in its entirety at the Hard Rock Cafe New York. She’ll also introduce this year’s Hard Rock Breast Cancer Awareness Pin.
Cynics sometimes suggest that events like this are just publicity stunts for corporate giants, but I usually disagree. Sure, it’s good press, but if it raises money and raises awareness of a good cause, I’m all for it, and I’ll be looking for an opportunity to make a toast to survivors with the Hard Rock Cafe.
