Sour Apple Pucker Cocktail Recipes

The Appletini and More

You bought a bottle of Sour Apple Pucker to try a new recipe - but what do you do with the rest of it?

We've all done it. We find a drink recipe that looks great, and end up buying a new liqueur (or two, or three). Maybe we liked the new drink, maybe we didn't - but now that we have something new, we want to see what else we can make with it. The Sour Apple Pucker is a little bit sweet, a little bit tart, and while it's probably not a "gourmet" liqueur, it adds a nice zip to a lot of cocktails.

The Appletini

  • 3 parts vodka
  • 1 part Sour Apple Pucker schnapps
  • 1 splash Rose's Lime Juice

Combine all ingredients with ice in a cocktail shaker until very cold. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass, and garnish with a thin slice of green apple. (Optional - rim the glass with a cinnamon and sugar mixture.)

Some recipes call for using sweet and sour mix instead of lime juice, but sour mix will give you a cloudy drink. Lime juice will give you a clear, pale green cocktail.

There's also a variation, created in honor of the new iPhone. Chris Null, writer for Yahoo! Tech, created it in what he modestly proclaims the "best home bar in the city of San Francisco."

The Appletini, iPhone Editiion (aka the iPhone-tini)

  • 2 oz. vodka
  • 1/2 oz. Sour Apple Pucker Schnapps
  • 1/2 oz. Goldschlager
  • 1/4 oz. Cointreau (or Triple Sec)

Combine in a shaker with ice. Shake well and strain into a chilled cocktail glass. (Option - rim the glass with sugar.) Garnish with an apple slice. Or maybe a cell phone.

Caramel Candy Apple Martini

  • 3 parts Sour Apple Pucker schnapps
  • 3 parts butterscotch liqueur
  • 1 part triple sec

Combine all ingredients in a shaker with ice. Shake well, and strain into a chilled cocktail glass. Garnish with an apple slice.

Green Meanie

  • 1 shot Sour Apple Pucker schnapps
  • lemon-lime soda

Pour the schnapps over ice in a highball glass. Top off with lemon-lime soda. Garnish with a lime wedge. For a variation known as All Puckered Out, use ginger ale instead of lemon-lime soda.

Jolly Rancher

  • 1 part Sour Apple Pucker schnapps (or apple schnapps)
  • 1 part peach schnapps
  • 1 cup cranberry juice

Mix and serve over ice in an old-fashioned glass.
